Yup! Formula1 Metallic car polish is for metallic paints (+ alloys(I tried it on alloys with great results! ))

DA - Dual Action Polisher!

btw I used the rotary polisher today for buffing off TW precision car wax off the doors of my mom's car!

It worked wonderfully! I kept cautious all the time and made sure I just feather touched it to the panels!

It greatly reduces the work!

OMG! we can use it to buff off Waxpol!
Thanks for explainig. You seem to be obsessed with somehow conquering Waxpol lol

But I did not wait for more than 10 mins per panel, before buffing it.

Had applied a very thin layer of Waxpol.

I had read somewhere on Team-BHP itself that multiple thin layers are way better than one thick layer.
Yes it is the right way. You just have to wait for teh wax to haze over(become opaque) and not wait for it to dry out completely. Also apply thin layers. Gives better results and also makes it easy to apply and remove.

As sohial says, better to leave a gap between waxing or you might remove teh first layer as you are applying the second layer and that defeats teh purpose.

Yep - sure thing. But that has to wait a week
650 kms on NH this weekend has taken its toll - with bug spots allover and almost centimeter thick dust coating
Have to drive around in that as I don't have time to clean my car on weekdays.

Why don't you employ a cleaner. Before you leave for work, the car is already shining to glory.

Well I don't think (call me a maniac if you like) anyone shall wash my car with the same amount of care that I do. Then 2 of the 3 cars cars are parked closely side by side and its difficult to find ones way between them. I have heard that cleaners do their job in a hurry, and don't care if they leave a scratch or two.
Lastly, I love washing, cleaning and detailing my car, and I do not want to give up that joy to someone else (the other reasons were just excuses ).
The downside of that is my car gets cleaned only once a week.

The amount of labour work you endure in detailing, it's rare to find someone doing the same. They might do their job in a hurry but for my car, the exteriors and interiors are always clean, thanks to them.

Dark colored cars should never be washed by the 'cleaners' !!

the swirls and scratches start to increase after every so called 'wash' + as they use hard water it further ruins the clear!

btw Khan Mkt is heaven for standard car detailing stuff!!!

My Sparky's beige dash board and door interior looks bit dirty and do not know how to clean. I tried SONAX cockpit spray but no improvement, suggestions please.

After seeing this I decided not to drive with window rolled down. I hate this beige interior :-(

You need a dashboard cleaner!

Dont go for polish or protectant!

buy a cleaner or try using your car wash shampoo with soft water in a spray bottle!
