Normal to power steering?

Hi Team members ,I just wanted to know if a normal steering system can be converted to power steering system.I know it will be a major modification in the car ,but just curoius to know?
I have heard of cars changing from manual to automatic gear system!

Can, but easier and more cost effective to sell car and buy a PAS one

I think maruti sells the EPS kit for about 30k....

Well,last time,around 2 years back,I asked Maruti Authorized Service facility about power steering for my Esteem,and they said it'll cost Rs60,000 !!!!...!
I said ok-bye,and left the service center !

if its maruti mpfi cars then the EPS can be retrofitted ...in other cars it can be done ...but its always better to buy a PS car .....i do know of people who have done PS for a gypsy and a DC designed tempo traveller for SRK

There is a TATA workshop in Chennai which does retrofitting of power steering for Indicas. Costs approx. Rs. 14K. I know a gentleman who got this done on his 1999 DLE.
