Oh how much I miss our M800 '86 which served us for 15yrs. We had to sell that for lack of garage space to accomodate the OHC. I loved that car. I learned driving in that car and infact I did my first ICE install DIY in that.
Nice work Edmund. Shall look for you next time I'm in Pune. Was those pics taken in UoP campus?

Exclamation Want to rebuild my M800 too

I have one fo 15 years vintage. October 92 model. I was so tempted to sell it off, but something somewhere inside me stopped me. That is my first car, has so many memories. Frankly, except for the body and electricals, everything is fine. The engine is very responsive, smooth gears, she runs well. Makes a lot of noise and the a/c doesn't work as the gas leaks. My wife too is very attached to the car and won't have non of my sudden inspirations to sell and buy a new one. She has one more reason though, and I share it too. My car had the good fortune of ferrying one Mr. Sunil Gavaskar once to the airport. And my wife did not lose the opportunity of sitting beside him - she is a blind fan of Sunil, and so am I. So, there I am. Stuck with an ageing lady, but can't think of discarding her. So I thought lets have a make over. Went to the garage guy, I stopped going to the authorised Maruti showrooms in Calcutta, as they just rob you in daylight, and he told me that with about 20K I can get the body repainted, a/c repaired, and he would make it as good as new. But then I saw an ad in the papers about how the entire look could be changed. I wondered if I could get a DC job done on this. I mean who wouldn't like a swank new model out of the old M800. Any one has any experinece of that? Maybe I could use your inputs.
Cheers!!

@ wheelsNsqueals: Don't do a DC or any such thing, restore it, and use the money you were going to spend on the DC job to put the bet of equipment into your car! like DuPont paint, Alloy wheels, nice tires, leather interiors, working a/c and a decent music system......................... that'll make it a stunner!!!

i totally agree with edmund regarding doing up a car, never change the identity of the car when you remodel it,be it a 800 or a civic to that matter any car, should not look like any other car or a space ship after the remodelling.
