any updates on the car?Well i have a suggestion. If funds are a problem, engine swaps are not going to be cheap and will eventually cost you more in the long run.Why not rebuild the older one,may be you could raise the money by selling off the alloys or something.
Really hoping to see your car back in action.Good luck.

Just finished going through most of this thread from the beginning. I admire the devotion to this car. I built up my father's old beat up AE80 Corolla in similar manner back in 2005 and a year ago I sold it. Sadly not enough pics of the build process but i did a lot of the bodywork myself. So i know what it's like to see a beaten car turn into a beauty. This is what it looked like before i sold it (minus one side light).
Btw, ever thought of dark gray wheels to go with your car?

This is very good stuff, Edmund. You've accomplished, with consummate ease, the difficult task of setting fire to imaginations ... including mine!
Beautiful car, beautiful shade of blue, beautiful work, and beautiful thread ... five stars!
A 3-year-old thread ... and still going strong ... come on, we await those updates!
Looking forward to more posts...

Ah, i'm gettin' too impatient too, school closes end may, we have an intensive last 2 months, so i haven't touched the car topic at all!
The wait should be worth it, i hope!

@Edmund: Fantastic stuff done with the car here!
We have a 84' 800 dying in our garage. Any ball park figures on how much would it cost to get the engine/gearbox/suspension totally done up. I want to bring back the car in which I spent my childhood and learnt to drive back to life.
Mumbai rains have rusted the body at quite a few places too so I think I would need a thorough body job too.
Can you please provide info about :-
1. An approximate ball park figure to get everything from the engine/suspension/body to be done up
2. Any trust worthy place in Mumbai/Pune to do this
Looking forward to your response.
