Unhappy skoda door noise

Hi Guys I am a new user. I had recently (Jan 4th 2006) bought new skoda rider 1.9 TDI.

The car has been giving some kind of a noise from the back passenger door. Dealer here says that it is usual for skoda as the car doors are heavy and the moment they are subjected to small shocks such as a ditch or may be a bump on the road the they start making noise.

Is it true. I thought it is a strong car given its heavy body and everything.....

Also does any one have a suggestion fixing the issue.

New car making noise really pisses me off.

The doors and the boot ot the Octavia are prone to produce small rattling sounds after a few months due to the poor road conditions. Its nutin to worry about, just take it to their place and they can tight it and then it'll be silent as ever.

Unfortunately this is a bugbear of all Octavia's in India. I would have thought they would have sorted it out by now but it appears not.

My car had the same problem which was taken care of by the dealers. Not to say that it is any excuse from the dealers to say that the door is "heavy". thats crap!

Dont know if this helps but have been carted around in octavias and golfs (cousin of octavia...insides look very similar) and have experience rear door rattles expecially on the belgian pavement sections of road in Prague...looks like this is an "international problem"

I was told my a mechanic that having a sub in the boot will make it produce small rattling noises cuz it'll get 'loose' by all the thumping from the sub. Any idea on that, cuz i think it could be true...

Unhappy Door noise

Thanks guys. I did take to the dealership in Jaipur. They were not able to fix it after trying 2-3 times. They did something with the steel things on which the door locks.

I have now contacted Skoda customer service and they are now coordinating with the Continental Motors in Delhi to get it fixed there.

Did any of you guys had experience with this Dealership.

I too had the same problem on my new VRS. The dealer could not figure it out but then when I took it to another dealer, he fixed it with ease. In case you do not have another dealer in your city....then pursue it with Skoda Auto....in writing.

Usually they adjust those steel door locking things which would solve the prob. Lubricating also helps at times. Actually its just a 15min job, dunno why they couldn't figure it out.
