Default Re: Smell in Honda CRV cabin ...after revving hard.

The smell that has been described could also be from the catalytic converter. Try checking the exhaust pipe for the smell. Also the smell would permeate the cabin from the area where the gear shift / handbrake is usually mounted, this could also explain why you get that smell even when the Air con is off and set to recirculation mode.

It is the heat and smell from the catalytic system that gets inside the cabin from the area I mentioned above. Check your exhaust system for leaks especially the joints where the exhaust is coupled to the catalytic converter.

I have a similar situation with my Swift VXi 2006.
The burning smell comes into the cabin with AC on recirculate whenever there is spirited driving(high RPMs).
Is this normal?
Am I messing the clutch? The clutch is 10k Kms old.
