Zen 98 model service manual - Team-BHP

Hi

I am rajdeep, a new member here. I stay in hyderabad

I bought a 98 model zen (run 54000 km) from maruti truevalue last year.

When I start the car in the morning, I can see light colored smoke, after which there is no visible smoke. Also, I have difficulty in cold starting. Could anyone tell me what needs to be checked?

Also, where can I find a service manual for the 98 model zen? (tried searching the forum, but was unable to find anything) could anyone please email it to me if they have it?

Yours is a carb.. so this will happen always.. it happens with my Zen98 too.. done 55k... in your next service ask them to clean the carb jets.. also use good additives to keep the fuel jets clean.. You should also press the acceleator a bit while cold starting to force some fuel for burning.. But all the above solution will not eliminate the problem (unless you pull the choke.. which overflows the engine with fuel.. not recommended at all).. it will make the cold start a little faster.. for me it takes about 30s to 1.5min to start. These problems doesn't happen in MPFI engines.. However after the engine is warm.. it should be smooth.

go to any MASS and you can order a MH410 service manual for 600rs ...for mpfi u have to pay 600 extra

Does it happen all the time or only on particularly cold mornings?

It happens only when i start it in the morning, the smoke is not seen later while driving. Being in hyderabad, i wouldnt say that its cold in the morning in this season

Hi

This problem of cold starting got solved!! The culprit in this case was the starter motor, which needed servicing and the belt whihc was replaced!!!!

Just walk over to your friendly neighborhood Maruti Authorized Service Centre, and they'll get you a copy - costs around 500 INR.
