sushrutha, I guess the prices down south is higher for a OHC, in Kolkata a good OHC would come at about 220-240k max, my frined has a 99 OHC in extremely good condition which he had picked up last year for 220k, but this car had the works and even today drives like a dream.

Question Carb zen mileage

Hello People,

i have Zen carb 98 model. 1.1L KM done. Currentky mileage is around 14 to 15 without A/C in Manglore. The car is mostly fully occupied. (5 people)

A/C isnt working now Even before a/c stopped working, mileage was around 14. So not much difference in mileage with or without A/C.

Any zen owners (especially from less traffic density cities like Managlore Mysore) please advice me the mileage you get.

Also, kindly suggest me a good mechanic in Mangalore who can fine tune the car. Its showing signd of aging. So need to perfom health checkup for my zen

Thank You,

Regards,
Ravi

hi, i too used to get 12 kmpl in mumbai.........now in b'lore,i used 3M decarb cleaners, and i am getting 14 kmpl (w/o ac) in traffic!!
i think that is decent for a 60K carb zen! i attribute this improvement to the carbon removal on the intake system, esp valve heads on intake!!

Hello! Bringing up this long dead thread again! I have a '97 carb zen that gives me just about 11kpl in the city (with practically off terrain road conditions and snail-speed traffic). Can anyone suggest a trusty garage in Bangalore to get my carb overhauled? Or is there something else also that I can do?

Cheers!

Am sailing in the same boat as you buddy! getting 10-11 in off-terrain standard bangalore conditions. Searched the directory but couldn't get any trusted name for carb overhaul (ofcourse it is a dying art).

What was your last PUC reading and do you suspect that your carb is leaking a richer mix?
