It is 2 years or 20,000 KM. At MSM they changed the gear oil for my car during the 24 month service, though the odo was only at 10,000 KM.

My trusted mechanic in Castrol pit stop in Total Mall, Sarjapur road says once in 25-30k kms interval is ideal. But there is no way otherwise to check whether the oil has been changed or not at *** without lifting up the vehicle.

Always have all the oils changed in front of you. If you dont have the rapport and response from service station for that, then change your service station.

When changing differential oil for example I closely oversaw the oil draining, how long to let it drip the last drops, and even measured and poured it for the mechanic into his custom container.

I agree, thats the only reason I stick to this place for anything other than basic service because they do the work in front of us. Both Abdul and Kishan are good and know them now for 3 years.

Hi,
Unfortunately you do not get 75W90 in the market, only A.S.S get it from shell in 20 litres barrels.

We must write an email to shell to start selling 75W90 in 1 litre packings in the open market too.

I used Shell Spirax 80W90 in my Swift K-Series even though 75W90 was recommended since it was not available. It seems 75W90 is only sold in bigger packs. Googling I found that HP, Servo have it but not sure of the package size. I have written to Fuchs regarding pack sizes. GSCaltex sells in bigg packs and I asked them to consider selling smaller packs since there is a vaccum in the market.

Looking at the article below, it seems 80W90 will work fine for us who don't live in the hills: http://gasgasrider.org/html/gear_oil_evaluation.html

For Honda City, the manual transmission oil change interval is 60,000 KMs. For Maruti WagonR, it is 20,000 KMs.

Are you sure of the interval for the WagonR? I was expecting it be above 60,000 kms. Any reason for such a short interval?

^^ It is always XX Kms or YY months, whichever is earlier. Just like engine oil. If you check your manual, it will be mentioned there.
