Objective of this Thread:
We often come across different features which are included in the car security system and honestly speaking most of us do not use all the features or are not aware of it. The purpose of this thread is to share the feature details that are present in your car security system and to share the know-how of how this feature can be used effectively. Members can also share the issues they faced with the system e.g. with a particular feature and how it was rectified. The information shared here by the members would be useful for both existing owners and the ones who are on the look out for a new car security system.

Would request the members to share details related to their security system like
1. Brand (Model if known)
2. Feature name and what it means
3. How useful is the feature
4. Issues you had related to the car security system and how was it handled.
5. Rate the after sales service received if applicable
6. How would you rate the brand based on your personal experience.

While going through the product specifications of different brands came across these features. This list of features may not be comprehensive but includes the most commonly used features in a car security system. Would be great if members can share their experience related to any particular feature and also indicated as to where it was useful.

Feature name and what it means
The most important feature for me was that the Autocop integrated solution piggybacks onto the Civic's standard security system. Thus, I use my OEM Honda key to lock / unlock. No need for a separate remote control.

The other features I care about:

1. Intrusion (door, bonnet & dicky) alarm.
2. Intrusion (windows) alarm via motion sensors placed on the A-Pillar.

None till date. The standard warranty is for a 3 year duration. Good thing is, for a grand or so, you can extend it for another 3 years (Autocop AMC)

Outstanding door-to-door service. If I call them in the morning, they are usually there by the afternoon.

For my next car, I'm eyeing one of those GPS-tracking security systems that can - in real time - tell you the location of your car.

One feature I do not want is the practice of connecting the hooter to the reverse gear. Who started it, and why?

Most security systems has optoinal setting to SILENT the hooter
autocop in my santro does that if you unlock the car silently thats pressing the flasher button(the one big button) just before the unlock button.

I am sure there's a similar way for other models too.
