iam surprised !!! this happens in most bunks here in chennai.... it is not unique to shell. IOC, BP, HP everyone has done that...they have printers incorporated in the dispensers which print out the bill immediately...no one needs to ask for it & there is always a winshield wash & dusting of all the windows....hmmmmmm

I chose Speed. Ever since I've got the Ikon, I've been topping it off with Speed. I think its the best fuel for this engine. But still, I'll try using Shell shortly in the future to check those fuels.

Reliance would be ideal if it were available in city limits. Shell otherwise.

I feel the Reliance standard pertrol is a good bet. Atleast now.

As far as my understanding goes.. premium petrol ( 95 , 95 octane..) is only effective in giving any extra power only on cars with high compression ratio engines ( 150 HO +). Its a waste of money using high octane petrol on sub 100 Hp cars.

Filled reliance petrol for the first time and got a mileage of over 16 (fiat adventure). Before that just over 14.8 kms/ltr with ioc premium.

Funny experiences! (Before my current problems with the engine of my OHC)

Just to give you an idea (tried and tested many times), when I fuel up with:
500 bucks of POWER, 170-180kms. Engine response: Very SLUGGISH
500 bucks of IOC Premium, 140-145kms. Engine response: Regular
500 bucks of SPEED, 130-135kms. Engine response: Better acceleration
500 bucks of Speed 97, 120-125kms MAX. Engine response: Great acceleration/power, throttle responds very well.

I now stick to SPEED/SPEED-97 but when the pockets are empty, I use POWER sometimes ;-)

I switched over to IOC Normal Petrol from BP Normal/Speed. Bunk is Ganapathi IOC toll gate Vijaynagar in Bangalore from last 1 month I can see engine has become smooth and FE incerased by 1km in highway.

I plan to use this fuel next 1000km to see the difference from my previous Bunks.

After that I plan to try Reliance as well

I feel we should at least run 1000km to find out if bunk/Petrol give betetr performance.

Regards,

Ravi.

I always use Turbojet + engine oil/2T Oil (200 ml in a tank full) for my Indica V2;the difference I make out is a smoother engine with an increase of 1-2 kmpl.

Shell normal unleaded is the best suited fuel for me, I have noticed a marked difference between Shell and other fuels.

The performance of my bike with regards to mileage and power is way better.
As far as my car goes, I cant tell as I have not used any other fuel other than Shell.

I get pretty good mileage too!!
