Default Which battery for SX4 VVT 1.6 manual

Folks, what would be a good replacement battery for SX4 VVT 1.6 manual (petrol)? The vehicle's manual specifies 12V30AH/5HR-38B20RMF, but the ones I see on the Exide and Amaron sites dont seem to be the same specs? For instance there is FMA0-MA35R from Exide which looks like its a 35AH battery and Amaron AAM-PR-00050B20R for which I cannot find the specs online. Is it ok to use these where the manufacturer specifies 30 AH? Also, are Optima yellowtop batteries available at Bangalore, how are they?

I'd suggest going for manufacturer recommended spec, but, if that is not available, then 35 ah should be fine. Only that, it will take a little bit more time to charge the battery fully.

The battery that is required is 35Ah and the stock exide freedon is also 35Ah itself. The requirement can be lower than the supply, only result being your battery will have a longer life(meaning it can hold more charge, and not last longer). I changed to amaron Pro AAM-PR-00050B20R last month after the exide freedom conked out at an age of three years ten months, which I felt was good enough for stock battery. It costed just 3500 bucks. There is amaron Flo at I think roughly 3200. Even cheaper variants exist too, with lesser warranty period. Exide matrix costed 1k more than Amaron Pro with the same warranty, so I chose the best amaron that was available. Think they have increased rates: http://www.batterybhai.com/search_re...ity=7&x=63&y=4

Hello,

Did you try the Bosch ones? AFAIK, these have the best reviews, not forgetting, also being the most expensive among the lot. Hope, atleast these are available. Please note, you will miss the discount after trading your old battery if, you go for another brand.

Additionally, are we sure that these sites are updated? Calling up any of these dealers should give a clear picture. My 2 cents.

Can these batteries not be procured from MA$$? Just a question from my end as i am oblivious to this fact. Thanks.

Batterybhai.com is pretty updated and their service is excellent. When I enquired at MASS, their rate was higher and they did not have amaron. They had only exide and that too matrix costed some 5.5k.
