Only the Models which had EPS were called SPIN, the normal LX & VX were not spin.

That's a great news! I am getting my Alto (second hand) in next 3-4 days and I am really looking forward to that.

All the Altos are MPFI. You should buy the 1.1L (VXI) to enjoy the drive though.

i suggest the EPS is not a good option for the Alto ...
1.1 is a great option ... but they are hard to find ...

Alto 1.1 was shut down some time back, now the alto comes with a 798 cc Engine-Almost same as Maruti 800 but a different engine..! EPS is standard for all good cars now...!
Def Alto Vxi - 1.1 Will be a hard find plus its in large demand..! as it shared the same Wagon R engine and was a great power drive for its class...!

Was the Alto 1.1 pulled out because of safety issues? I am told this car has tremendous acceleration and can speed up to 170 kph. Maybe Suzuki thought that the vehicle was not safe at such speeds?

The VXi was killing sales of Zen higher variants & lower variant of Wagon R & they wanted to position as replacement for the M800. So sadly it was pulled off. My dad has a Alto VXi & boy thats my supercar

I even tried exchaning my Lxi with his VXi but he refused :( hehe

and maruti pulled the maruti 800 5-speed with the alto engine coz the alto's sales dipped as the 5-speed 800 was awesome. maruti always does something good and then reaslises that they should'nt.

funny that maruti has all 3 models/gens of the ALTO in the market ...

the 1.1L has crazy acceleration ...the production stopped a month before we bought an Alto ..the 5 speed on the 3 pot is quite a rocket too ...all you need to do is switch off the A/c ..

Yes even I think so. Btw I was told that the 5 Speed model of M800 was launched as test for the Alto. Am not too sure how much true this was but thats what the dealer had told us at that time.
