Although there were jerks initially for me but after the long trip (like the Kolkata trip where AC was on for say 8-9 hours), the jerks and all subsided....Even Lokesh (Service Engineer of MASS) told me about it after driving 5 km in AC....
As Techno also said, I puton K&N very early and that might help as well..

The jerks everyone is mentioning, is it the same one I get.

I.E. while driving in city traffic in 2nd or 3rd gear with A/C on, the moment you leave the gas pedal, there is a very sharp engine braking happening, which eases off suddenly as soon as RPM's reach very low to near Idle levels>?

Also, sometimes I get these HORRIBLE shudders while moving from rest in frist gear at moderate throttle. Whole car, gearstick etc shudder like anything. This happens like 2 times out of 10.

Other times, even if I leave the clutch gradually without even touching the throttle, she will start moving smoothly.....

Man, looks like majority of teh Altos have this problem. I have had a clutch replacement for transmission whine at 3000kms on the odo.

Both the problems i.e. jerk with AC on when backing off gas and the shudder only when engine cold i.e. 2/10 times also happen with me as well.

Looks like quite a few altos have this problem.

Summers are here and now i use AC with full blow. Lately from past 3 - 4 days i have been facing a problem regarding pickup with AC on.

If i am in 3rd gear and cruising @30 - 35 and press the accelerator the car picks up slowly. Now i understand it will pick up slowly but as soon as it hits the speed of 45 - 50 it jumps like anything. Pickup increases and it feels like AC is not on. But the problem is lot of times i have to break down to avoid rear ending someone. The sudden increase in pickup is like in diesel cars you get the feel of TURBO kicking in suddenly.

The car in picture is 800CC Alto.

I don't know if this is a common problem but never faced this problem from past 7 years and it bugging since past 3 - 4 days only.

Maybe AC needs servicing ?

Yup pretty standard issue in Alto. After a particular rpm the car shoots off. The jerks in my car has reduced after putting in the K&N stock replacement filter. The car is much more driveable and I can hold on to higher gear longer and don't need to downshift.

Default LPG ALto + AC = Emergency Brakes

If this sounds funny - In case of a emergency, I just switch my LPG On and AC Full Blast, Voila and the car stops right there in the middle of the road.

I then took a risk and got the Mandovi Motors marketed Turbo Fan thing inside the Air filter pipe and VOILA... there is considerable difference in the pickup, still to check onthe FE.

I will update FE once I finish the trial runs.

Default Clicking Noise.

Okay, the power loss and the jerks seem to be a universal problem with alto's i guess.. even i face em pretty often in my 3 month old alto..

Off late, i have observed two things,

1. The car makes a loud screeching noise when i start the vehicle for the first time, and also screeches when I switch on the AC. I guess its a problem with the belt.

2. There is a very prominent "click" sound whenever I switch on the AC and the engine noise increases substantially, i'll say by 25 percent.

I will try to visit the service station asap, but I am a bit worried bout the problem, any solutions?
