hi rahul,

I don't know if you might have the same problem but a friend of mine had a problem similar to this in his WagonR. His problem was that the car used to jerk under moderate acceleration in third and and also at speeds of around 70- 80. Turns out that he had drive shaft problems. Now this is a guy who drives at a sedate pace and rarely goes beyond 60/70. Took a couple of runs with the Maruti test engineer on the highway to make them understand what the problem was but he got it fixed under warranty. He had around 15 - 20k on his car.

Hope this helps.
drive on!!
Shibu.

Check your tyre pressures...they maybe too high and hence causing discomfort. And also are you shifting into 3rd at the right speed?

Nope no such problems on our Wagon R. I've a feeling you're shifting into 3rd a bit early. Take 2nd gear to around 2500-3000rpm and then shift.

Shan2nu has a Vx .. so it has a Tacho...

BTW I too have a wagonR.. the engine is not as smooth as a Alto Vx(i).. but its quite ok.

Though one thing is for sure.... WagonR is supposed to be driven on PERFECT roads and nothing else. The suspension is too stiff for anything else. On good roads the ride quality is really very good.

for smoothness.... try...
adjusting valve clearences
at least 91 octance fuel
at least Castrol GTX Magantec
change gear oil

As for shifting in 3rd gear....
one should shift in minimum at 27-28km/h
drive range 20km/h to normally 45km/h... but its ok till almost 60km/h.
