Change gear at 2K rpm till the running in period....After that u can enjoy the neck breaking torque of CRDi..

The fuel meter problem is very strange may b an electronic fault....

Hi:

Ask the Hyundai service station to check the earthing on the car.

I had a similar problem with temperature gauge, and it was fixed after they added a new earthing wire. No problems after that.

I think it is possible to have this while going uphill or down hill. I see this kind of changes, not necessarily from 1/4 to E and back, but comparable.

Also my petrol car low fuel warning light comes on once the available fuel is about 11/10 Lts, goes off after I start the engine. The light will be on continuously only if the fuel goes down to 6/7 lts kind.

Hey,

Ask for REPLACEMENT of the "FLOAT". Float is a resistance- an equipment which is ligher than the feul and floats in teh fuel tank over the fuel.

Its resistance meter can go bad and hence such a problem. I had a similar problem in my earlier INDICA and got it fixed.

I assume the concept would be the same for all the cars so go and "Replace the Fuel Tank FLOAT"

Hope this helps.

Rajeev

HI,
take the car to hyundai service center and tell them to check the fuel meter, and also the float inside the fuel tank

I too have the same problem with my 3 month old viva crdi

The fuel indicator goes down upto almost E and the warning lamp shows and when i refill after driving after 50km+ is only 30 or 31 litres of diesel ( tank capacity is 45 litres). They changed my fuel assembly but this problem remains.

After the fuel warning lamp showed, i went to hyundai service center and removed the fuel in the car manually and measured the fuel, tank had 15 litres of diesel ...whereas the fuel warning lamp was almost on the letter E and was continously staying ON when driving. i definetly there is an error in the fuel indicator, probably the float or something else.

Throw some light on what could be the problem guys
