Grade Logic Control
The Honda Civic A/T is supposed to be equipped with Grade Logic Control which supposedly can determine the slope/gradient of the road and accordingly postpone or avoid upshifting automatically.
However the user manual does not mention this at all.
Has anyone had any experience with this technology and specifically with the Indian Civic?

When I test drove the AT civic, on a flyover while coming down, it tended to hold the gear rather than upshifting. I believe this requires a tap on the brakes? Why don't you send an e-mail to Honda and find out. I also would be interested to know.

Re: Grade Logic Control
And for your particular question, yes the Indian Civic do have the control.
I had personally experienced some sort of RPM hold while descending and gear shifts while ascending because of which had raised this question in the above thread.
ananth_iy provided the concept of Civic using Grade Logic Control.
We can see the mention of the same in Civic's technical specification page @ http://www.hondacarindia.com/Civic/Specifications.html
