Hey RJK,

Carbon cleaning is moderately effective, but it is by no means a comprehensive solution to the carbon deposits your diesel car may have accumulated in 45000 kms. I doubt that it will have any major effect on your mileage, but in the absence of better technologies, carbon cleaning is recommended for diesel cars nearing their mid-life.

The cost of Carbon cleaning, the last I heard, was 2000 odd.

Hope that helps

Carbon cleaning at 45K is very early . And Carbon cleaning will not improve your mileage drastically.SO if you are particular about mileage alone then you ight get disappointed .

If you are very keen only about mileage , the you can clean the injectors and calibrate the fuel injection pump .

is there any way we can increase the mileage of the car, i was getting about 18km/lit but after 60k kms now i am getting 13~14 / litre.
a huge difference in mileage, tried different gas pump (run by company directly also) but no difference in mileage. i have done fuel pump calibration also.

thanks

You have not mentioned the car name.
BTW Was there any 60,000kms service carried out on your car?
What parts were replaced if any at that service?
And till when were you getting 18 kpl?

When was the last time Engine Oil, Fuel Filter, Air Filter replaced in your car?
