Default Explained: How to reset the service message in a Ford Figo

More often than not your car comes back from Ford service with the "Ser ON" service message still showing on the display. Here is how you can clear the message -
  1. Enter car and close all doors.
  2. Turn the ignition key to ON (but do not start the engine) and immediately afterwards...
  3. Press and keep pressed the following combination for about 15 seconds: Accelerator pedal, Brake pedal, and the mode selector button on the stalk (the one that is used to toggle Display info).
  4. Keep them pressed until the message "OFF" is displayed on the screen.
  5. Turn igniton to off, and then on again and start the car. The message should have cleared.

On the new Figo, just long press the selector button (trip reset button) when the "Ser ON" is displayed would more than suffice. I got the message around 4200km and this cleared the message. Still, I'm wondering why the message is cropping up untimely.
