I beg to differ. The City and the Baleno are powerful machines too but there are people who mod them.

I feel the Palio is not a cheap car to mod. Unlike the engine bays of the Honda's and Suzuki's, Palio's engine bay doesn't have the much required space to add a Turbo to it. I dont say it can't be done, but it would be highly impractical.
There is a difference between modifications and alterations which many of us do not consider while we think of getting more horses from our engines.

If your idea of modifications is a free flow filter, FF exhaust, plugs and the likes, then I dont think the Palio should have a problem accomodating it. If you are thinking of a turbo then just pop the hood of the Palio and try to find space to do the plumbing.

Pawan, In simple terms -- the GTX is a bit too heavy for stuff like dragging and all and thats why people stay away !!!

Cheers

Japanese engines are way too easy to mod compared to other cars.

Also keep in mind that the after-market support for a Palio will be much less than the more popular Hondas and Suzukis.

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

also you dont have bigger engines available in india to plonk into the palio's engine bay like in the case of a zen where you can put in an esteem and a baleno engine.

The 1.6 Palio has more than sufficient power to not be modded. Besides its stock avatar is a very well balanced one.

The Zen has always been that wannabe car thats just shy of a proper hot hatch moniker; this gap being filled by the modifications.

Putting a turbocharger is easier (subjectively speaking) than a supercharger, and probably cheaper as well (Pyscho and the other modders, pl cutslashdelete my words as required ).

Pawan - whats the original intent behind your question, can I ask?

Very valid point.
P.S A friend's Swift turbo's engine conked off with in 3000 kms of putting in the turbo. Its now spewing white smoke even at idle. The turbo is a garrett T 25 with an intercooler, it used to beat Skoda RS to 100 kph but now i am thinking.... is it worth it.

He's talked about Turbo's and Superchargers, which led me to believe that he is talking about performance mods.

I ve seen some one talking about Smaller Engine bays. True but it has best in its class. Comparing it to Zen Palio has a better engine bay. Talking about engine swaps in Zen, at the most 1.6L Baleno can be fitted in Zen. Which comes stock in Palio.

The main interesting part comes when we talk about Turbo Charging a Palio. It can be done, but as some gentle men told us about an alteration.

It will be more of an alteration than modification.

Such minor alterations are required, but we can fill in loads of power in it.

Aint sure of the after effects of it.
Better to find one who got it done to a Palio.
