Hi! Himanshu. I don't think there is any need to change the ECU. I would recommend getting you car's injectors cleaned and use System-G (petrol additive) every time you tank up.
You will notice a considerable difference in two-three tank fulls.
I have done a lot of trials using System-G and and many other additives such as Stp, Sonax but i found System-G to be most cost effective as well as working well.

Try Resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a Short duration.

I knew this problem was there with the GTX and the S10 but never heard of this happening to the 1.2. They have fixed the problem in the new 1.6 Sports.

Dont fall for the ECU change. Its not an ECU problem!

I always use HP Power for my car- do I still need System G? I guess not.

Even I did not fall for that ECU crap. SO I am in observation mode as of now.

Yes you do. I have always used either BP speed or IOC premium or HP power, but still i have to use system-G to solve the problem. I would recommend you to try it out...even if you use high octane fuels.
