Default Starting trouble and Musical Car

Bluebell (dats my M800 5spd MPFI) has been playing truant for the past week which is quite unlike her usual well-behaved self.

She just refuses to start up in the mornings at 6, with the starter motor going krrr krrr without any signs of starting up (dead engine). Which means I have had to miss my gym quite often! Miraculously the engine starts up without any problem after 8-ish once the sun has come up. I dont understand. She has been to Manali in the icy winters and has started up without any problem. What could have gone wrong?

Today while cleaning her up I noticed a strange krrrr krrr sound when the engine is running. Like the starter motor sound but with the engine running! At first i thought i was imagining it but then i opened up the bonnet with the engine running and pulled the throttle cable to check and I was right: there is a distinct sound like mentioned before which increases with the rev but is drowned out by the sound of the engine itself. The sound of the engine itself has become distinctly louder. The engine itself is securely fastened and there are no vibrations etc.

Yet another problem is that the gear shift is not what it used to be: earlier it coulld put a Zen to shame it was that smooth! Over the past week it doesnt shift as smoothly and it is showing a tendency to "jump" out of gears, especially 3rd.

Bluebell is otherwise quite a well behaved cow and returns a decent 16/18 kpl in the city without the AC and a record 22/24 kpl on the highway!! Which is why I dont wanna sell it.

What could the problem be? Any pointers?

From what I learnt thru a friends similiar experience it could be a problem with your ECU unit ,have it scanned at a MASS for failed sensors.

You could get the entire fuel system flushed. You might have some deposits in the fuel system which make starting in cold tough.

Some looseness in shift is anticipated as the gearbox ages. Get the torque/shift rod adjusted.

None of the symptoms seem to point to ECU.

Seems to be like that your Solenoid Switch needs replacement
