I second that. Sounds like the timing is totally off.

If you want increase in lower end torque get a replacement stock filter. I've got a K&N Stock replacement and these issues are no longer there I do not need to downshift a lot in the city even...

There has been a noticable improvement in low end torque in my swift after the second service. When asked, the service advisor replied that they had tuned the engine, without giving any more detail.
So.. better wait some more time before testing the car to its limits.

I agree about Shan and Mpower suggestions.

According to me Swift is the car we need adjust driving for its response
Thats what I noticed when travelled for around 12,000 KM in my Swift.

In city it is underpowered for slow moving traffic, on highway its great car!

Trying changing fuel may be try with premium Petrol to see if you see any difference. Adjust to its response. you need to come 2nd gear in hill area driving in swift for sharp curves that kinda driving style enhance engine's life as well!

Also have a good meeting with mechanics and ask them to check every aspect of it and also ask them to take valve clearence test when it completes 3000KM.

Regards,

Ravi.

Yes..I am hoping for that now. I also appreciate other comments like K&N stuff but dont want to experiment as of now as the baby is still very young !

Default Bad fuel

Hey i think you may be having this problem due to bad fuel(engine knocking), adultrated one. my friends opel astra had the same but changing the fuel solved the problem. you can also check your fuel mixtuer settings or valve timings.
