Smile Time for Suspension Re-do for my Esteem

My esteem is going to the garage today for suspension repairs. She is 8 years old & clocked about 76K Kms. I will try & get a list of all the parts that are being replaced. If there is anything that i have to look for especially, please let me know.

Hey E_L if you've got the dough go for Koni FSD's (Struts) and stiffer springs in the rear... will improve handling phenomenally.

Alterntively you could try pedders. SAP / Electra will be able to give u more info.

All the best.

Yes, the esteem does have 4 struts. I am going to the garage in a little while. Will get back to you regarding the connecting rods. (I think those are the rods that connect the lower arm to the struts, i am guessing)

@n_aditya : Thanks for the suggestion. i prefer to keep my car stock. I am changing to alloys & getting a new rear spoiler too.

All spares are from CARS India & the work is carried out by my trusted mechanic in Padi. (Asia Motors)

Control Arm dosent wear out. You just need to change the ball joint and the bushes. The connecting rod could also refer to the sway bar link.

Have your steering rack checked while you're at it. Also check your steering column bushes - they wear easily & cause irritating rattles.

All the best.

How much? That's the first question you have to ask the mechanic.
My friend got his Zen's suspension re-done (changed the shock absorbers in the front+ the allied parts), and it costed him 10k. Even you should pay around that much.

Guys I am going to get the front shocks, tie rod ends and ball joints changed for my OHC Type 1 (not from HONDA). The price quoted is 7.5k, it this allright?
What else do I need to get checked, considering the car has clocked over 80k on the ODO.

Hey esteem lover i did a suspension work but did not change the front and rear sturts. The ride was fine initially but soon the sturts were worn out and the ride is bad so let me know what is the price of a pair of orignal front sturts, since you must be buying them. And Psycho this question goes to you is getting the sturts reconditioned successful? and what will a pair of koni's cost?
