Default Windscreen Washer problem

Hello Friends,

You have always helped me in tackling issues with my car. Thanks a ton for the same.

2-3 days back I have noticed that the windscreen washer fluid streams in my SWIFT are not oozing out with force.Previously water streams used to be in such a force that it reached roof of the car.
Now whenever I do that to clear the windscreen, water streams come out about a feet and half high maximum.

I thought that there may be less water and so I tried to fill it up.But it seems that there is adequate qty.of it and problem still persists.

Please let me know if I can do something myself to solve the problem or I need to go to MUL workshop for this.

Thanks and Regards,

Rajendra

there might be some dust/grime blocking the flow of water use a pin to clear the nozzle, while you use the washer.

Check if the pressure has reduced in both the sprinklers or just one of them. If its in just one of them then cleaning the nozzle with a pin will help . Otherwise there is something stuck in the hose which supplies water to the two nozzles.

I second this...
Clean the nozzle with a pin. Or else check out for any leakage in the hose pipe

Open the hood. U will see the pipes on the bonnet cover (generally thin and transparent) which direct the water from the reservoir to the jets. Remove the pipes, blow into them to clean any particles lodged inside, refit them and you're good to go.

I had the same problem, it was caused by the dirt in water.. Use a small pin, to clean the jets .Always use clean water for Windhseeld washer.

The windshield washer in my i10 is not working. (Wipers are working normally)

There is sufficient liquid in the reservoir. When I pull the stalk, I can hear the pump, but no water is coming from the nozzle.

Must be a dislocated pipe, where should I look ?

I don't feel like visiting the service centre for this small problem.

Rohan

Do you see a puddle of water under your car when you pull the stalk and no spray is there? If yes, then there's a leak. If no then there's a clog.

I didn't see a puddle of washer liquid after I pulled the stalk.

How to identify the problem area ?

Rohan

I have a question on the similar lines. I have heard different opinions about the liquid that's used for windscreen washer. Can we fill normal water or are there any specific liquids available for this?

Normal water plus some windscreen cleaning fluid is all that it requires. Though if the water in your area is very hard in nature, then use bottled mineral water.
