Hyundai i20 VIN Explained

The full VIN can be found on the floor under the Driver's seat.


Along with the 17 digit you can find one more additional digit/letter which represents month. Normally its displayed like this

Hey Wildon,

Thanks, that's true. I just got it delivered today. It's a Volkswagen Polo and as far as my decoding knowledge goes, it's a 2010 model coz A is the 10th digit. But I'm not able to make out the month and I'm not sure if I will be able to. Let me know if you get to know.

What surprised me that the WMI (World Manufacturers Identifier) which is WVW , but Skoda too carries the WMI as TMB which are normally not falls under Indian Region.

Leaving all that I'm guessing the month as April due to the VIN digits 4,9 and 11, but i may be wrong.I have to find out which digit actually represents the month. I don't have any other samples to check this but surely take a special interest to solve this.

Finally got it. As i said earlier its April 2010 Model . To be precise its manufactured on 21.04.2010.

Is it possible to know the manufacturer with details of color/model as you have indicated for Hyundai cars?
