Default Clarification on Clutch in Ford Ikon

Hi
I have a Ford Ikon 2007 model and i feel Cluctch is too hard. I have driven Swift and Santro and Clutch in these cars compared to Ikon is very Soft.

Is this an issue with my car or Clutch on the IKon itself is on the harder side?

Is there something i can do about this? My car is back from Second free service and i had mentioned this problem, service centre guy told me that Clutch Bleeding has been done (Iam not a techie and iam not sure what this means), but i dont see any considerable improvement

Pls help!!!!

How many kms has ur car run?
How do u handle ur clutch?

Try going to a ford service and compare ur clutch with other flairs.

Nitrous, i recollect you mentioning the Ikon is equipped with a hydraulic clutch. Is this why the clutch pedal requires more effort (hard feel) than other cars?

Flair boy,

I own a Ikon Flair 2006 , but I never felt such thing. Try checking other Ikon's and see the difference whil you visit the service center.

Ikon comes with a hydraulic clutch, and that probably explains why it feels different from some of the other cars. As far as the feel is concerned, i dont find it too stressing, probably the reason being i dont get to drive different cars often, and also i have gotten used to it.

hydraulic clutch may not equate to a harder clutch in all cars. I dont remember having this problem untill my car had run for 30-40K kms.Infact a hydraulic clutch helps in smoother and equal distribution of force. The problem might be one off and my be due to leakage in the clutch slave cylinder but since this is a new car (second free service) check the oil levels and since bleeding was done, fluid top up might already be done. May be issues with master/slave pistons. you might aswell get this peoblem rectified during warranty itself

Sometimes Clutch bleeding can help. Can be done from the slave cylinder. Ask your Ford guys to do it for you. Mine improved a lot after bleeding.
