Is it a real engine or a demo one? Can the camera survive high temperatures?

the flow and shape of flames compared to the speed of the piston seems to be unrealistic.

"the flow and shape of flames compared to the speed of the piston seems to be unrealistic"

the speed of the exploding gases will be a LOT faster than the speed of motion of the piston....don't know what technology they applied to get this video...also the placementof the camera....seems to be this engine may have dual sparks...maybe they removed one & placed the recording device?

From that vantage point such a view would never be obtained.
A small hole is 'drilled' in the cylinder and the camera is mounted there. You can make out the exact position from the video.

i didn't mean the speed. it sems unrealistic because there is no rhythm between the strokes and the explosions.

quite possible it's because i have never seen it and it's different from what i visualize.

Nice find dude,

I think it has been shot with a high speed camera.

Wow Prashanth, this is one cool find man, amazing video! I had always wanted to see the combustion cycle in an engine and now I have seen a part of it. Somehow I always used to imagine that after the compression an explosion occurs, but that was a real controlled burning of the air/fuel mixture!

its pretty insightful on the working of the IC, so far seen only in animations.
question i have is - is this a 2S or 4 stroke. the compression and ignition stroke seemed to be one.
