Default Internal Chassis Designations?

Guys,
We all know the Intenal Chassis Designations for Mercs and BMW. For eg : The E class has been W124, then W210 and now W211. However, I just cant seem to recall any for some other popular cars that have been around for decades. Like the Mondeo, Golf, or even our own M800. Please enlighten.

Golf/Jetta/GTi has always been Mk1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 is the newest one. And having a chassis designation for the M800 is a joke even though they might have one, because as far as I know, they've had only two chassis in 24 years of production.

Yes, even M800 has a designation which is used on the job chart during service at company-authorised service stations.
