No 3rd or first, only with 2nd gear. I dont know why they are saying clutch but they said they checked the gearbox completely.

The car used to go in 2nd while re clutching twice or so.

Interesting problem. BUSA, keep us updated. I love the Swift diesel engine.

BTW, this problem would not have happened if you went for a Getz.

Default Torque the gearbox and clutch can handle

Dear Busa,
When you get the car back do find for yourself and for the information of others as to what happens to be the maximum torque the FIAT gearbox can handle. You have a PSI box I hear. There are lot many cars in the northern part of Kerala thats been having clutch plate problems after Maruti attempted to change the original vendor.
Bye and wear your seat belts.

Not yet got the car back.

Went to the dealership yesterday to see the car. It was jacked up with the front tyres removed and the front bumper out. Also the engine was out of the car. Engine is quite compact though.

He told me yesterday that they changed the gearbox(but the problem isint with it) then the clutch, they will put the engine back and try to deliver the car tomorrow(saturday)

I went today at around 7 or so in the evening and the guys were testing the car, the engine was in butttttt out of 10 times once-twice it still used to miss going into second. He showed me the new clutch and flywheel which he has put in the car. However since its still not completely solved he said he has called the MUL engineer on monday and they will change the 2nd and 3rd gear synchros. That means again removing the engine and all. Hopefully i should get the delivery by tuesday with the issues resovled.

Till then i have the Orange Swift Petrol to drive around in so no complains, but that car rattles like absolute crazy

Your new flywheel and clutch assembly, will probably not be the same quality as OEM stuff. Even though they will be MGP stuff. SGP quality is much better though. Make sure you have an idea about what's going in.

@ Ported - The New Flywheel and Clutch assembly is SGP.

I am in talks with DWM WM regularly and go to the dealership and check the car in directly where customers are not allowed though i get permission.
