car - indica V2 turbo dlx .

All 4 fr brake pads replaced with kbx pads (original thickness now 11 mm). the old ones are now just 7 mm ..so 4mm rubbed off in 4 years.

- HEADLIGHTS - I am facing a problem here. Actually I changed the OE philips bulbs with philips XV bulb a week back, and the access shop guy increased the level , dont know why.
observed in night that , the high beam is completely off the road and pointing to trees.
So, during servicing in millenium mobility,a pune dealer sc , asked them to correctly level it.

Dont know whats their process, the guy turned so many screws, took out the assembly, turned some nuts on the right reflector anf finally the beams are to close to the car ..i mean high beam is within 30m..that close.

Again took today to them, they did same circus with the headlights ...and now it has worsened. the beams are scattered , focus disturbed .....the headlight system in mess. the right beam is shifted further right on the road shoulders and not able to light the road in front.

Guys, pls can you let me know who can get this done correctly thru some computerised machine / tools in PUNE.

beacuse of the unnecessary adj done in the reflector plates by the mechanic , the focus is now gone.

pls let me know , for indica v2 specific cases , how can i get back the original settings.

You should adjust the light in night. Go to a local auto electrician this time and ask him to do the settings. He will do a better job with you present in front of him directing him the way you want the lights tobe focused.

Gentlemen,
I have a peculiar problem. Just today I was returning home, the windscreen wiper of my Tata Indigo (Petrol) started to work automatically, without me ever touching the wiper control. The first time I thought that I had accidentally touched the wiper control arm but this soon reoccurred few more times. It continued to work in intermittent mode and stopped when I fiddled with the wiper movement arm and put it back in resting position.
What may be the problem? May the local auto-electricians at my neighbourhood fix this? I do not wish to visit TASC, as I always have to take a day off from my office whenever I visit them.
Regards,
Rahul

Thanks Mercedised. will try with a local mechanoc in next opportunity but was wondering whether there is any computerised facility avl and whether they are helpful also.

The dealers did it in the dark room only but without any machines. They had the horz levels as ref.

My issue is the sideways adjustment and focus ..not vertical which was pretty easy to do by screws.

lets see how it turns out.

## Pune Indica experts- Any clue to any specialist for this ?

@amazing: I don't think so that there is any machinised facility for adjusting the headlights. If you are not happy at the end then changing the lights is the only option.

It might be the wiper switch or wiper control unit. There might be a loose connection in the wiper switch. Do check the wiper relay. Yes a local auto electrician could do even better job then TASC mechanics provided the auto-electrician is good one.

After the last servicing at Delaer SC, I am also facing a rpm problem.

Altough I had not told them to tamper with any tuning etc , neither had any mileage issue , and expected just a oil change service.

But the guys have adjusted the tuning , and finally next day morning i found that the cold idling rpm at start was at 750 , instead of earlier 950-1000. As a result the gear lever was shaking vigorously.

Took the car next day to them and asked them to increase it to 950 ...they did increase to 900+ ( that time engine was a operating temp already owing to my travel to SC 10 kms away).

Last 2 days , again I am finding the idle rpm at cold dropped to 800 approx. While reversing the car , I never pressed accelerator , just clutch release was enug. Now I have to press accl. Also, my car has stalled a few times while going over speed breakers ..considering the way I used to drive earlier.

Also, my throttle response had reduced now ...need to press accelerator more to get the same response ..pls suggest remedy. My sweet tuning for this car is gone completely

Can you suggest , how the tunings are done in Indica V2? What are the adjustments present ? [ I have seen then adjusting 2 nuts and increasing the idling rpm]

greenhorn -
thanks for your note - i have the list which you had given on tata on my desktop and the cost that i have got from shetty motors is 11900 bucks. i might keep the car - so might go for a new ECU; but yes will check the same with another mechanic. the mechanic says that he has cleaned the fuel pump, checked electricals; also my battery is just 3 months old. DAMN!

mercedised -
i get this Check Engine Sign; so really dont know much about it! am really flustered; knowing this is the diwali weekend. anyways - just spoke to shetty motors and they said that the part is not available even at TASC and that they will get it if i get them the sample and pay an advance but after the diwali weekend only. they have quoted a price of 11900 + taxes as of now

johnruben
my odo reads - 60700 km
Anybody from Mumbai who can sort me out with a genuine mechanic here. Select auto is quite away, so dont want to go that far. stay in mira road (thane) so somewhere near borivali, kandivali - andheri (west) will be a big help

thanks a lot for your help guys

Check engine light comes on in Xeta due to many reasons. Mostly its sensor related, loose wiring, water ingress, corrosive tracks in ECU. There is a guy on Indica groups who has repaired the ECU pin configuration himself. I read it yesterday.

You can try at Balaji cars. Good service centre, now also at Bhiwandi.

My Indica v2 refused to start today. The engine cranks just fine but refused to start. I noticed that glow plug light switches off as soon as the ignition is turned on wherein earlier, it used to stay on for few seconds and then go off.
I tried to on-off ignition few times and all of sudden, the glow plug light returns to normal and than the car starts just fine.

Any idea where could be the issue is?

PS - My autocop central locking was disconnected for few months as the motherboard had malfuntioned. I have reconnected it around 7 days ago. Could this has something to do with this problem?

Try disconnecting the autocop central locking again & observe for a week or so if you face this issue. If it does not recur then you know where the problem lies. If it still continues, then you have to look elsewhere (probably the timer which keeps the supply to the glow plugs "ON" for a specific duration).

Hello everyone,
I have bought a 2006 DLG turbo 57k run and very well maintained by a doctor.
As preventive steps I have changed front bushes, brake pads, coolant, gear oil, greased rear bearings and replaced one, checked timer belt for any damages. Also changed headlight bulb to philips white lights, alignment done, started System D
Car runs better then my expectations.

I have few queries still left

1>Do i need to do any thing more as I do not have car history with me.
2>Both front window glass has noise and local mech says complete system will be replaced for around 3.5-4k each, I was thinking if just winding mechanism can be replaced as motor function well?
3>both OVRM have a lot of rattling, they are both loose and as per mech. they will have to be replaced at cost of around 1200 each.I was thinking if there is any way to tighten them?

4> 2 of the bulbs behind AC control switch are kaput which r used to light them from behind, I am unable to source them

Thankx

Hi,

Yesterday night we found that the passenger side front power window of my car (indigo CS GLX 2009) was not moving up after halfway. It was coming up till halfway almost fine. but after that it wasn't moving at all. Pulling the windows up brought them up to 80% close but that's it. It didn't close 100%.

What could be the possible issue? Can this be fixed at normal car mechanic? Thanks a lot.

How old is the battery? I suggest you take your car to a battery store and get your battery a load test first. Only if the battery is in sound condition you may think of any other solution.

Battery was replaced around 6 months ago however I got it checked already and no issues found.
As of now, its been 3 days and I have not noticed the same problem again however today morning, another issue came up.
In the morning when I took the car out, it appeared to have lost momentum for few seconds (Like its loosing power and going to stop). It happened few times and after 3-4 km of driving, the issue disappeared.

hi all experts,

My Indica V2 (2006 turbo model) has stared to show up smoke while starting. The smoke is very visible for some time, and then reduces. Even after the engine is warm, one can "see" smoke during normal acceleration. It was not like this before.

Now, what are the possibilities? One thing i see from the other threads is that the glow plugs may have gone kaput. This might be the case here too, as starting the car now does take a fraction of a second longer and the engine does struggle to keep up to 900rpm or so for the first 10 seconds.

However, glow plugs do not explain smoke during normal operation after the car has warmed up, isnt it?

The car was serviced at 55k, and now i am nearing 60k. At 55k, engine decarbonisation was also done.
