LPG price hiked to 32/kg from 27/kg. Thus the savings has become marginal................................

Default dont kill the baleno

the so called economy of the diesel engine will not compensate for the total cost :

1) Cost of the conversion ` 75k - 1 lakh for a decent job
2) Added cost of maintenance - 10k per year
3) The killer - resale value - who will buy a diesel baleno at least 1 lakh additional depreciation in 3 years

If you combine all of these, you are looking at a total additional cost of at least 2 lakhs for 3 years

if you are getting 12kmpl, running cost is 4rs/km
even if you manage to get 16kmpl in diesel, it is 2 rs/km

you will have to drive a lakh of kms in 3 years for the ROI..

So currently its better to stick with baleno engine and not go for lpg also since its 32/kg and petrol is still 46/litre here in trivandrum. So would advise him to stick with the cute Balenooooooooooo
