Sound from Engine Bay of Swift VDI (DDIS) - what would be the cause of this sound? - Team-BHP

Folks,

I am off late getting a clock ticking sound from engine back. The ticking is at higher frequency of 3 tics a second (Not like clock). I am unable to figure out the reason for the same. what would be the cause of this sound? Should I be cautious and take it to the M.A.S.S to verify the sound?

Please take it to your service station.

Does not harm even if it turns out to be something minor.

is this after you put of the engine?

is it when you switch the ignition? and also when engine is running (muffled due to engine sound)?

OMG !! then you DONT have to worry, its the fuel pump working hard

Give more details.

Yes it is when I switch on the ignition and when idling it is very prominent. Must be fuel pump as Jaggu suggested but why has the sound increased of late?
