I just got my suspension stiffened this weekend and boy has it made a difference. It handles brilliantly with minimal body roll, but whats even more surprising is that the ride quality has improved over the stock setup.

I'v gone for a semi street setup which is slightly stiffer than stock.

What exactly did you get done? What parts were used?

No parts were replaced. I think they increase the fluid inside the suspension to reduce travel.

It only costs about 1000 bucks per suspension and can be done in a days time.

The degree of stiffness can be set according to the customers requirements. My car has a mild street setup while Wolf's suspension is rock solid (which he needs for drag events).

Can you confirm the price for above mentioned you posted ? Why the "ummmm .. ." ???

Shantanu mentioned 2100/- per Munjal Showa shocks, and you're saying 3-4k?

Did you replace 2 or 4 shocks ?

surprised the ride improved after stiffening the springs..doesnt that defy conventional logic ?

what profile tyres are u guys running ?

Shan2nu - did u change any other parts apart from just stiffening the shocks ?

thanks..

When I had my car's suspension overhauled the front chocks cost me 3750 for the set & rear's were 3200.

I don't think they said that they had stiffened the springs but just the shocks. Also increasing just the quantity of oil does not harden the shocks and if that is what is done it will put extreme stresses on the internal valves and seals which could then fail. Would not recommend this till the person who is doing it knows what needs to be done.

Another thing the rear springs of the City are naturally weak and need improvement and so does the roll bar. Have seen great improvement in handling post adding braces both front and back.

true...thanks for pointing that out..but still with lesser movement in the shocks...wont the ride worsen, assuming all other things being left untouched..?

rear springs !! good u raised that point...there definetly is a kind of thud sound from the rear left side over even small bumps...

did the ride improve by any chance after the braces ? am more inclined to the ride than handling ( very unlike a OHC owner - i know ! )

That's because I can't remember how much we paid, I bought them a while back and will have to hunt for the price.

I replaced only 2 front shocks, have sent you a PM.

They prob just replace the fluid with another one with a diff viscosity. U can get the details from Sanjay.
