Guys, around the year 2000, we had a Maruti Suzuki 800 DX and it had a Subros AC system. So, IMHO, Subros is the best option b'coz in DX models, Subros AC system comes factory fitted.

Default AC WorkShop in Bangalore

Where in Bangalore best AC workshop available? I want to service AC of my 800. I feel cooling is reduced little bit, but I am not sure, it may be my assumption. Experts should able to check and verify. Never serviced AC for last 7 years so far. It is giving uninterrupted service and no trouble.

Well, the price (Including endorsement in the Insurance) went to approximately 30K. Completely hassle free as MASS had the right expertise into this area, including the insurance part. The kit itself costs around 24 K, additional costs include, labor charges, gas costs and wirings. They also did a performance test on the engine and also checked the clutch plate, fan belt and pulley for wear and tear before they started.

that is indeed very expensive at 30k.

If you have done it from outside it would have been cheaper as they are not using MGP but from OEM subros.

Cost of compressor as MGP is 14k.

But if you buy directly from subros. Its 10500/- MRP on box. so you get more discount on MRP.

I got a brand new compressor from Subros couple of months back for a friend for 9800/- for a Zen. Which will also fit on a ALto i am sure.

It comes in a proper Box. MRP is stickered properly by Subros.

For fitting A/C for Alto, MASS is asking 28K. But, i am sure its much less if we go aftermarket.
Can anyone provide me the contact of Subaros in Bangalore or any website?
What would be the approx cost?

Is it true that MASS fits only Subaros compressor? And not Sanden.

I have been told that Sanden gives superior cooling.

What's your recommendation?

I believe Sanden has a bigger compressor compared to the Subros, which possibly puts a higher load on the engine. seem to have read this in some post on this forum. Guess i had a very very pricey deal with MASS

a bit of correction. Smallest sanden compressor is 80cc, where as smallest that subros make is of 117 cc.

Also I guess that largest subros makes is 175cc used in tata safari and sumo.

i got my busted a/c fixed from Gomes at Santacruz. It cost me 4300 bucks, 2000 for labor + gas + leak test,1800 for servcing compressor servicing and 900 bucks for a busted valve.

The a/c seems to be running fine and i would like to mention the guy was able to run the compressor using the now available gas as he mentioned it runs fine even with old type compressor.

Keeping my fingers crossed, hoping the a/c won't give me trouble as it had happened before. The only slight problem is the a/c idle speed is at 1400 rpm which is too high and will get corrected next week when the garage has asked me to bring in the car for a inspection again.
