Unhappy Clutch replaced but still having vibration problem

Hi bhpians,
My OHC (2001 1.3 Exi) had a clutch plate replaced around a week ago.
My Kilometer reading is 57853 kms.

I am experiencing vibrations while releasing the clutch pad ...more vibration while the AC is on( which i was experiencing earlier too).

The vibration is not when the engine is cold (5 to 10 minutes after startup.)

I told the mechanic about it; but he says that since the clutch plate is new it will take some time for the vibration to go...is it true?

Does all cars have vibrations when warmed up with ac on?

Will increasing the RPM reduce the vibration?

My current RPM is around 1100 at startup and 700 when fuully warmed up.
help.

Was the cover assembly replaced? If not, that could be the culprit.

I have a feeling the vibrations are due to worn engine mounts, have you had them checked also? Also, is the vibration there at high-rpms also?

The mechanic says he has changed the clutch plate as well as the pressure plate.

How about increasing the RPM of the engine? Will it decrease the vibration ??

Hi,

The culprit is the flywheel. Another team bhpian had a similar experience in his OHC1.5 and the problem was solved by replacing the flywheel.

Flywheel and engine mounts need checking. It was a mistake if your mech didnt check flywheel when he downed the gear box.

Anyways no point in cribbing, you will have to remove the gear box now and then check if all well.

OHC guys please help on brand and approx cost of Honda fly wheel.

Hi,

Its best you fit the original Honda flywheel. How many kms have you driven after the clutch overhaul. Hope you havent damaged the pressure plate.

Hi,
Its been maximum 600kms after clutch and pressure plate replacement.
Was thinking of changing the air filter next month ...so was wondering how much would the stock or light-weight flywheel cost me (budgeting )

How much would a K & N filter along with intake pipes would cost.

I don't see any reason why a stock flywheel (which was working earlier) can cause vibration problem (after changing the clutch), unless it is shaved inappropriately to reduce weight causing imbalance, there is no serviceable part in a flywheel, looks like to me more of an fitting issue or the clutch itself causing jutter.

You said your OHC settles at around 700 rpm at idle. This appears very low. Shouldn't correct idling rpm be 850-900? Try doing that and may be your problem will go away.

Unhappy Got another OHC clutch problem or should I say gear shifting problem.

Got the clutch plate changed recently.
I got a strange problem in my OHC (1.3 Exi). Many times the gear gets stuck (on any gear) and I am not able to shift the gear back to neutral. When I again and release press the clutch pedal then I am able to shift the gear smoothly. I had this same problem even before changing the clutch plate. What could be the problem guys. I hope this doesnt affect my clutch plate.

Have driven around 600 kms after replacing clutch plate.
