they are standar kits avble abroad. its just that size of bottle is small so that it can be hidden under the cowl on your bike or below the rear seat. nos makes it also venom.

Hey Gordon, Iceman, Psycho..... Great posts..... Really really informative....
I noticed a bullet in B'lore(During the speed run)..
It had a small cylinder like thing on its crash guard.. Is it ?? I dont know if i'm making a fool of my self here by asking this.. But could it by any chance have been a NOS kit??!!
The bike wasnt taking part, but it was parked there beside some RDs(Part of some RD club i guess, they weren't participating either)....
Or was it that I saw so many of these stuff in cars that day and every thing around seemed to look like one(Guess this is the answer).. heheheeeeee.....

_Forgive me if i was wrong_

Hey sorry man ... a few people had asked me about it being a NOS tank earlier especially when a few of my friends painted it Red.

As for your point
"I said it was on the crash guard, in front, on the right side!!!!!!"

thanks for mentioning that it was on the front it was not in your earlier post that is why I though so.

I think it could have been a small CO2 cylinder (fire extinguisher) or it could be one of those wierd bullets that I saw in TN that were running on mini gas(LPG) cylinders mounted on their front or rear crash gaurds.

But if it was a NOS kit (doubtful) I would defn like to meet the dude who owns it.

May be thats what it was!! I saw it at a distance.. Looked pretty strange to me, as I hadn't seen anything like that before on a bullet..

Psycho, thanks for the clarification!!

Clearing more concepts - Please correct me
  • Carburetor engine: Air/Fuel is mixed inside the carburetor (where fuel is atomized) before being sent to the cylinder. This air/fuel mixture is then sent to the cylinder through the intake valve for combustion.

How and where exactly is NOS installed in a Carburetor engine?
in terms of "Dry", "Wet", "Ported" types

  • MPFi engine: Fuel is directly injected in the cylinder through the injector (where it is atomized), where it mixes with air. The air comes from the air filter. Both air and fuel enter the cylinder through the intake valve for combustion.

How and where exactly is NOS installed in a MPFi engine?
in terms of "Dry", "Wet", "Ported" types

It would be better if someone can explain and supply a proper diagram of an engine that shows details such as the carb*, throttle body, cylinders, valves, injectors*, air intakes, air filters, fuel line, etc.

NOS installation types

Use this link to get the details on how each type of NOS kit works, the concepts remain the same for both Fuel Injected and Carburetted with the exception for the EFI type of injection.

Hello people .. i have understood NoS & its working too ....

THIS THREAD IS REALLY REALLY GOOD.

But i have one question in mind... is there a possibility for a blow-up in the car
ignition system or any other part of engine ... or can there be any mis-hap during the use of NoS during DRAG RACES of ANY kind ... can it result in fatal
accident due to over-intake of NoS in car's engine .... ???

m sorry for asking lot of questions .. but i just wanna clear my doubt !
