Swift VDI engine oil - Team-BHP

Dear all ,

I would be getting my engine oil , gear box oil and air filter changed as part of my fourth service of swift vdi @15000 KM .

Should i go for the maruti stuff or some after market please suggest.

Any brand name & price ( if after market ) will be highly appreciated.

For normal driving stick to manufacturer recommendations. For extreme driving shift to something like Mobil 1. Costs about 9000 - 1000 rupees per litre here in bangalore

I would recommed to stick to the manufacturer's recommendation. It is better anyday. OR if you want to choose yourself, pls know the specifications of OE oil and then replace the same with after market oil.

Dont put Mobil 1 on swift vdi, its been tried and results not very encouraging, if you really want to upgrade source Mobil Delvac 1. Thats the correct oil, otherwise stick to Mobil Delvac MX (1300) which MUL recommends.

My advice is stick to manufacturer recommnedations, but change oil at lesser intervals, if you feel you drive harder/faster than the most. I used to follow 5000km intervals, so does Jaggu.
