Thanks a lot for the pointers , Actually this noise started since yesterday morning and Vehicle was serviced around 1 month back , May be they did something at that time.
I will go to nearest T.A.S.S that is KHT if they can't do anything will go to concord.

There is even a possibility that this injector will not come out easily; may have jammed in the mounting hole. Please have this attended to at an early date.

Is there a difference in the feel of the engine? Like loss of power or roughness? Or the driving feel is exactly as before?
There is no roughness or powerloss in the engine , Also this noise is audible in idle engine in the moving vehicle there is no such noise.

Well this problem/sound is definitely due to pressure loss which is happening due to the injector not being properly seated. This same thing had happened to me once but was rectified giving the same reason. Please make sure that the fuel line that you can see connected to the engine is connected back and connected properly and tight cause when they did my job, while delivering the vehicle one of the "outputs" of the fuel line was not connected and fuel leaked out!

If it is some-kind of leak at the injector, wouldn't it be possible to put soap solution/foam around the seat and start the engine. If there is leak it should bubble up?

Thanks a lot every one . One more question is it safe to drive it to workshop ( approx 25 km) or should I call them to tow it ? I have already driven some 3-4 km after I first noticed this sound.

Safe enough to drive to the workshop.
The longer this leak persists the greater is the chance of the injector getting jammed in the mounting hole, with all the carbon deposits; which is something that might already have happened.

Problem solved it was indeed injector not seated properly, refitting with a new washer solved the issue. Thanks a lot for help on diagnosis.

Got a peculiar problem today: I was driving to Kolhapur. After covering about 150-160 kms(crossed Belgaum) while I was accelerating in the 3rd or 4th gear , the car had reached 2K RPM or so but and a certain point on the highway I felt the car kind of lose power for at 2k rpm -then a jerk-then lose power again and then back to its normal self all in 3-4 seconds. The feeling cannot be explained properly but imagine the car at the sweet turbo spot climbing at 2000 RPM but the feeling on the accelerator pedal is as if the car is at 400 RPM(not actually happening but the feeling) just for 1-2 seconds and back to 2K RPM. Quite a scary moment that was. This happened back again when I was returning back from Kolhapur. Something similar had occurred to me while I was on the way to Pune some time last month but I thought it was just my imagination. What might be the problem?

Hi All,

I am planning to go for 45K service for my Safari. I have few questions.

1. Till now all the services were done at the interval specified in the booklet but right now itís only 43K and the kms specified in booklet is 45000-45500. Is it okay to get it serviced now for 45K free service? Will Tata create a problem in any EW claim?

2. What oil you guys recommend. Do we have any say at service centers? Till now I was going with whatever Tata was using but as car is out of service I want to use better stuff if there is.

3. I want to go for service every 10K after this free service. Is there any problem in doing that? Will Tata create a problem in EW claims because of that?

4. Is there anything special I need to take care in this service?

5. Few other things, looks like one of my reverse sensors is gone kaput. So Tata will change both the sensors or one? Is it covered in EW?

6. I have lost my windscreen washer reservoir cap. Does Tata sell that separately or I have to change full reservoir? I hate anything broken or misplaced

Please advise

Same here. When I inquired a year back, they said whole tank has to be replaced. Whereas Maruti sells it as a separate spare and costs 20/- or so (happened with my WagonR too). Safari's washer tank comes fitted with two DC pumps and costs around 1200/- or so. I have not changed, instead DIY fabricated a cover using 10ml measure cup that comes with babies Combiflam Suspension bottle. Does the work (preventing dirt falling inside). Will try to post a pic tomorrow.

Whoa 1200INR. then I think I will go with some jugaad only. Don't want spend that much just for a cap for sure. Already spoiled a tshirt by going under and looking on the underplates. I just lost it while I was filling the tank up and it fell on the underplate. Did all to find it but was not able to do so

Well I got a cap for 20 buck over here in Goa at a spare parts dealer shop when I lost my cover too, it is not yellow in color like the OEM but if it does the job ,who's complaining. So try at tata spares dealers in your city, they may a white colored cap which kind of does the job.

Hi Inder,
1)You can get it serviced a little early, no issues of warranty in that.

2)You cannot supply oil of your choice, you have to buy it from them, if you want better quality, ask them for the Synthetic Oil.

3)If you are using synthetic oil, you don't need to change it every 10k kms, but you can get a general checkup done at every 10k kms if that gives you peace of mind.

4)The sensor would not have failed, the pins connecting them would be disconnected, just ask an electrician to have a look.

If you know the SA, you can ask him to get you a reservoir cap from salvage instead of buying the entire tank.

It could be chocked fuel filter if your safari is due for service try changing diesel filter. Initially the change interval as per service booklet was 30K but later they issued a circular to change at every 15K service due to frequent chocking.

Well my Safari was serviced recently in August so I don't think a fuel filter can get clogged in such a short period, can it? Is there a way to check it and clean it before replacement cause I just would not like to spend 1.5K for nothing. What could be another cause for this, just to remind you this does not happen on a daily drive for short period like 50 Kms or so but happens only when I do long drives or may be if i do short drives continuously throughout the day but in that case it happens at-least once a day.

Thanks Hari Sir,

Sensor is making a continous beep sound thats why I was thinking may be it failed. Will get it checked.

Planning to book with Prerna, Hosur Road. Hope they can salvage a cap.
