Default My Accord V6 De-accelerates like a plane on braking

Dear all,I hve been driving the v6 accord for quite some time now. When I apply the brakes at 100+kmph,the vehicle stops but there are kind of jerks.Feels like some thing is hitting on the discs. This does not happen at low speeds.I asked this to my freind he told me that its EBD and ABS function in th v6.Is this true or do i need to take the car to service?

ABS brakes do pulsate at higher speeds.

This is absolutely normal at speed s you mention while braking down !! Just try out it s cornering abilities and the ABS will give you it s full taste !!! Try finding a patch in your locality as rain s have just been less furious see if you can find moss or such patches and if you apply brake s at speed s as low as 30-40 the ABS will assist you there too and your doubt s shall be cleared !!

this will be highly unlikely but then check for disc cutting, i.e. warped discs. The discs if slammed on once/twice, may show out of plane deformities.

Pulsating normally is fine. If you gethe ABS light coming on the instrument panel. However if regularly irregular braking is observed, you may need to check the discs for disc deformities.

Do check.

I have driven 2 V6's and 2 2.4L accords, all of them seem to suffer from the jerky braking. I think its a common problem for most accords!

Your brake discs seem warped. If one doing gradual braking on a normal dry road there is absolutly no reason that the ABS would come on...no matter what the speed.

Default Brakes

Guys if you say the discs are warped then there should be problems at low speeds.but at low speeds the breaking is just perfect!

I would not agree with you. It is a normal thing when the ABS kicks in on hard braking at high speeds irrespective of the road condition (wet or dry). i have the V6 and the 2.4 and it happens in both. initially i did take the 2.4 to get checked but was told it was due to the ABS. in the V6 it is also due to the auto transmission kicking down the gears along with ABS.

This also happens in both my Mercedes at high speed brakeing. The ML brakes were slammed at 140kms on a dry road just to see what happens.
