Default Vibration issue in Honda City - type 1

Hi,

I am facing a lot of vibration in my car when the car is at Idle and with the AC on.

The vibration disappears/ reduces when the AC is switched off.

I have got the throttle body cleant recently thinking it was a throttle issue but it is not.

The car works on both Petrol and LPG and the issue is the same on both fuels.

The mechanic mentioned the engine mounts were intact too.

Please assist.

Either your RPM is set too low (Could be an ECU based issue) or your engine mounts could have worn out.

Where exactly do you experience the vibrations? What is the condition of the suspension?

You should get the engine mounts checked properly. Also, check for the gear mounts and suspension mounts, since all these can result in the car vibrating.

RPM increases slightly when you switch on the A.C to tackle additional load on engine. does that happen? i think that's the problem, issues could be related to idle/IAC valve.get that checked.

Hi,

This is issue is still not solved!

My mechanic says that he will let me know when another car of the same model comes in, he will then replace the throttle body and check the issue.

I believe that it is because the ECU voltage directed is incorrect due to which the excess air does not by pass the throttle body, which increases the RPM.

I have done a lot of reading on this, and I think I can do my PHD on this. lol...

Will keep you posted on this issue.

Get the throttle body removed and cleaned properly. Also get the Idle Controller valve checked, that might be busted.

I had/ have (it is still there, though intermittent) issue in my Palio 1.6. Check the air temp sensor/ lambda sensor. you might also want to check the TDC/ Crank sensor.

Can you give us more information?

* Car details - how old etc.
* Does this happen right after a cold start as well?
* Is it more pronounced when the engine is warm?
* At what RPM range does your engine idle when warm?
* Does the RPM drop when you turn on the A/C when the engine is warm and cold? (and what does it drop to)

This also used to happen on my car for a while but that was done a front end shunt and broken mounting(s). Once I had that fixed, it never came back. Are you sure your car has had no shunts and the mountings are in good condition?

happens to mine too.
got an OHC type 1

i think its a compressor issue.
My car performance decreases drastically with the AC on and vibrates alot more with the AC on.

@ iraghava : what are shunts??

Accidents. Crashes. Things that screw up the chassis.

Vibrations reduced drastically after the change of engine mounts. Getting my compressor changed. Lets see if it makes any difference.

Have got a quote of 9.5 k for a Sanden compressor. Anyone can get me a better deal?
