Default Some Queries on My Santro Xing

Hi Team BHP,
I have recently purchased a Santro Xing XG (of cours after reading your posts in this site). I was planning to buy a small car vacuum cleaner but I see that my Santro doesnot have a point to which I can plug in the cleaner. The vacuum cleaner dealer told me that I need to plug it into the car cigarette lighter. But tehre is no cigerete lighter in my car. Is it a standar accessory or do I need to purchase it now? Pl. enlighten me.

cigarette lighter is not a standard accessory.. at least in Santro. you can get it from any accessory shop. I got mine from Hyundai Service Center. The had charged me Rs 200 or something..

regarding the car vacuum cleaner, i have got one.. its not so powerful/useful. check before you buy.

For using your vaccum cleaner, you do not need to buy a cigarette lighter. All you need to do is to plug in the vaccum in the lighter socket and it will work.

If your query was about the lighter coming as standard, I dont think it comes as standard in all models of Santro. You can check out the details of your madel.

MadhuG - You need to purchase a full Cigarette Lighter set (Socket + Lighter). This should cost you around Rs 150.

You then require to insert the vacuum cleaner plug into the cigarette lighter socket.

. Common sense is often pretty uncommon, but Dadu, some people who buy their cars second hand don't have the luxury of getting a proper manual.
One related question - can the rear set be made foldable in cars where this is not given as OE? I have an Esteem. Is this a feasible mod?

The plastic that you're referring to are body side moulding. I guess you had got them installed at an accessory shop and they were not of good quality. You get double sided tape which you can use to fix it back, the accessory shop where you installed them will have it.
