Default Things to do for 3rd Service.

Hi all,
My WagonR is going for a 3rd Service this weekend. What are the things that i need to change and look for. In 2nd Service they had not changed the oil and oil filter. My car has run 5.5 K Kms.

IMO go for oil change and see the items listed in manul book
Look for extended warranty if not opted for and if you think it is needed.

An Oil and Filter changes is required after the first 1000kms and then onwards after every 10000Kms. So its not required @5000Kms. But I would advice you to go for a complete check-up.

Thanks. Is it better to ask for wheel balancing and alignment at MASS or do it manually at outside shops? i plan to give it to Kalyani Motors, Mysore Road. Is it good or any other MASS to service at? I stay near Rajajinagar(Iskon).Thanks.

Ramki.

Ramki.
When I was in Bangalore, I always did my service @Pratham, Outer Ring Road, Marthahalli. I was a satisfied customer of ratham Motors. Mandovi is also good. My friend had is alto serviced from Mandovi. I don't have any feed back for Kalyani Motors.

You can also do wheel balancing and alignment @MASS. But I always found their perfection and handling not upto the mark. Their attention is not enough as they will have a lot of vehicles in the loop. Hence I always did it outside where I could get personal attention.

The other factor was the price. It was always high when the MASS does anything.

It was just a personal choice to do it outside. If your experience is good with Kalyani Motors, you can ask them to do in front of you.

No ways! I wouldn't stretch regular (mineral) oil to 10,000 kms. Our driving conditions are way to harsh for that. OEM mineral engine oil ought to be changed anywhere between 5,000 - 7,000 kms.

Hi GTO,

I agree that many people do the oil change inbetween 5 - 10K. I usually do a general checking every 5000kms. I also do an oil check once in a week after 7,000kms in the morning. If the color of the oil has darkened or it has become thick, I will go for an oil change.

This time, once I touched 29000kms the oil change was required. Then I went for the 30,000 service with an Oil Change, Oil Filter Change, Throttle Body Cleaning etc.. etc. The service costed me Rs.3300.

Its was just a personal choice to check the oil and decide whether to for a change. Its good if the oil is changed in 7,000kms.
