One of them of the usual Lancer with its typical front grilles doing the rounds since 1999.Im sure you know what im talking about.

The Second one which came in was the Lancer LE,with that chrome wide grille, different bumpers, bonnet, crystal clear headlamps and taillights and the rear boot.Looks awesome even now. This is known as Mirage abroad.Launched in 2001.

Third is the Invex 1.8L with a different plastic grille and a small Mitsubishi emblem on it.Launched in 2003

Fourth is the vertical chrome grilled 1.5Lx and all, which is seen in the showroom nowadays.Launched in 2004.

But aren't all these Lancers basically the same car with exterior mods? I'm sure they must be sharing the same chassis.

So, wouldn't they all have the same shape and dimenssion?

i like the 1.5 mirage shaped lancer. the new ones have a front grill which does not match my taste.

something like this would really turn me on :

Ditto.Would prefer an LE(Mirage) anyday over the SFXi.Its got more of those clean flowing lines and elegant appeal with the minimal sporty look to it.
My friend has an LE with a GT spoiler and red neons on it.Will try and get some pics soon.

They do share the same chassis. The only is:

Lancer LE(limited edition) comes with half wooden-half leather interiors,crystal head-lamps,fogs,crystal tail-lamps,different boot and bonnet,foldable mirrors,chrome grille and 14" wheels with 185/60 tyres.

SFXi comes in with a sports kit and leather interiors with 14" wheels.
SLXi with foldable mirrors, leather interiors and 13" wheels with 175/65 tyres.
GLXi is the low-end version with none of the above.
Also the new breed of Lancers have a different front grille and a few interior changes.

All the Lancers look the same except the LE.

the lancer was never meant to look like a sedan its a rally bred car ... SFXi and the LE are on the same platform ,which is better suited to the sfxi..which the SFXi beats the LE when it comes to styling and looks ...they are all based on the Lancer evo 4 frame , so i dont see how the shapes have changed .. variants yes , lights ,stupid looking chrome grills , abassador tyres ,front bumpers ...

Vulken , you should have a poll on this topic on all the "shapes" n variants of the desi Lancer see which is best looking of all...

cheers

I was concerned abt the body , lights, bumpers, hoods, fenders and boot etc for lancers in india. since I find no change in green house and we dont even have to expect. As far as engine are concerned we have to dream for a newer version All i know is a 1.5 and 1.8 and 2.0 d which wouldnt have changed from DAY 1 except for very minor changes. I see differences in lights, grill, hood bumpers and boot.

I think autopsyche may know it better since hes lancer RAJ.
