Sound issue - Getz. Suspension problem?

I have been noticing a deep bass 'thuk-thuk / dug-dug' sound from the front side (center of the car). It is audible at low speeds and specifically, on bumpy/pot holed roads (which Mumbai has aplenty). The noise disappears on smooth roads (read - expressway) and at higher speeds (i.e. >40 kmph).

Strangely, I notice the sound only during early morning (home->office journey), and rarely when starting the office->home commute in the evening.

Could these be a suspension/shockers problem? What should I ask my garage/mechanic to look for specifically? (I dont go to a Hyundai A.S.S for obvious reasons, but have got an excellent and experienced elderly mechanic to help me out).

Please reply fast since my warranty expires on Jan 14th. So if this is something serious, I would have to get it repaired under warranty.
