Exclamation Alto Fuel Gauge problem ?

Guys 2 days ago i was traveling and my car jerked a few times. I thought it must be normal injector cleaning etc. But after a few KM's I kept on pressing the accelerator but the car wont go any faster and came to a stop.

I suspected it might be fuel but the gauge was showing 1/4 fuel in tank. Luckily i had around 2 ltrs of petrol in a bottle (I mostly carry a bottle of petrol). Poured it in and started the car and its back to normal. Got it filled with Rs. 500 the same day and today in the morning the same thing happened. The fuel gauge again near 1/4 and the car wont move.

Any help on the issue ? Currently pretty caught up with the work so cant go to MASS.

Get the fuel filter checked.A good idea to get it changed too.
Btw how much has your car run and which year model is it?

The Fuel gauge consists of 2 units :

1. The Sending Unit

2. The Gauge

The resistor in the Sending Unit may gone kaput.
