Default Drive shaft for Baleno

Am a slight Rookie to Car mechanics..
REcently I faced a problem where I had to replace my Drive shaft of the Baleno. the entire gear inside of the drive shaft was smoothened out and caused the assemble to slip.
Need to do an RCA..
What could have caused this gears to moothen out so much? HAd a Santro for 6 years and nothing like this had happened?
Would the problem be replicated on the Left Drive shaft too?
As per the Maruti Service the left Drive is OK.. But I guess this is very non committal as there is an opportunity for more buiness later.
Any valued Advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Sunil

Gear inside drive shaft? are you talking about the bearings and joints? OR the end which goes inside the gear box?

I think he means that the splines (or threads) at the driveshaft end are all stripped, so they probably couldn't attach it to the CV joint and the wheel hub assembly properly.

One of the reasons it might happen is due to the CV joint wearing out, but I'm not sure about your specific case.

Sujay, you are right, it is the Splines/threads which got worn out.
From the look of the shaft it was wear and tear. But my concern is what if the left drive shaft is also giving way, due to some misalignment/Wrong style of driving/any other reason.

Thats very strange, should be defective part or as you said badly fitted/aligned one.
