Glad to see that, but why didn't you post about this here earlier! I'm sure you'd have got a lot of appreciation if you had.

More details about the HYPER-V please... Does the electric motor also charge the battery when it is running on petrol ?

Very true Rehaan, sure would've got my appreciation here.

Well the charging is done by a separate alternator! The DC motor sprocket freewheels when the engine is powering!

Haven't been getting time to do a write up on it, all the pics and reports are at home and have been quite busy at office, I'll definitely have it up on the tech section by monday!

Interesting.

May i ask how much the entire project cost (say, if you had to build an entirely new one).

Also, how many hp is your DC motor? Where(/what) did you get it from? How good is it when youre just running on electric power?

I love the simplicity of this system. Such a simple add-on to an existing fuel powered platform.

How smooth or jerky is the power switchover from electric to petrol? And how is it controlled? Speed sensor + microcontroller?

PS - also, (how) is the petrol engine disengaged from the drivetrain when the electric motor is running?

hey rehaan shall start the thread today! well its simpler than you can think!!
I was inspired by the story " NASA spent 10 years and millions developing a pen that could write in zero gravity and in a temp. range of 125 deg C to -50 deg C, while the Russians used a PENCIL!!" lol, its a rumor though but nonetheless an inspiration for me.
My aim was to keep it as simple as possible not to make it sound and look fancy but to show how easily something can be achieved.
Will try and have everything uploaded by today! Cheers.
