Approach God or a used car dealer. That will solve your problem much more quickly.
I own a different car (Corsa) but face the same problem as you. I am scared to go to GM service as the car has transitioned into middle-age. Not being technically aware, I am sure that I will be asked to get something replaced (this has happened when the car was relatively new).

any horror stories out of Mahavir Auto in Hyderabad?!
I'm sure there would be tonnes of problems out here too...
