Oil Color for Accent CRdi
Yesterday when i checked my car's oil,It was black in color. My friend told me that it is usually green and turns black when its time for an oil change.Car has done 22000 k ,had done a service at 18000 in which oil change was done(Since oil change is an obvious task,i dint check up).Is there a problm? What do u guys think?.

Oil color may vary however it is the consistency of the oil that is key. Ususally you change oil and the oil filter in the car every 5000 km.
Ways to make out if the oil has gone bad:
1) The oil is thick and rough in between your fingers when you rub it.
2) The oil stinks when you smell it usually is like a burned smell
3) If it is synthetic oil dont go by the color do the consistency and smell test. Synthetic oil is reccomended for a oil change at 10000 km. If you are moving from non-synthetic to synthetic please use an engine flush before changing the oil.
